ABOUT LE FARMHOUSE STAY

A unique and tailored experience. Enjoy private use of the second floor of our home in Provence, including two elegantly appointed bedrooms with en-suite bathrooms, two private offices, living room, foyer, media room and an outdoor terrace and courtyard. Enjoy the 20-acre property (pool, gardens, terraces) with a hosted experience by an American couple living in Provence. 

 

Le Farmhouse Stay is available as a single booking (one reservation) for 2-4 adults (e.g., two couples, one couple and a single, or two single travellers) looking to share the experience of a luxury retreat in our home -- Le Farmhouse.  Please note -- property owners David & Dave, as well as their two dogs Dolce & Giorgio (boxers) will be living on premises during the stay.  We do not permit guests to bring pets or children (under 18).

WHAT IS INCLUDED?

• Seven-night stay (Sunday-to-Sunday only) for 2 to 4 people in our home

• Breakfast served each morning from 8:00-10:00

• Welcome Apéro & Dinner - we will welcome you to our home with an apéritif and a four-course dinner with wine, getting to know each other and sharing our perspectives on this beautiful region

• Shared use of the property - make yourself at home, with use of our pool, beautiful gardens, private courtyard, living rooms (2) and outdoor terraces

• Guided visit to the Apt Market (Saturday morning) - come with us to the market - we'll show you our weekly routine and some of our favorite vendors at the famous Apt market

• Farewell Apéro & Dinner - a festive evening filled with fresh produce from the morning market tour

• Insider tips for exploring the area and beyond, including markets, villages, art galleries, concerts, antique brocantes, restaurant recommendations and reservations (subject to availability) for lunches and dinners

AMENITIES

 

Le Farmhouse Stay is a unique invitation to stay in our home as our guests.  We hope that you will enjoy staying here as much as we do!  A few of the amenities we offer include:

• Our Property - enjoy our 20-acre (8 hectare) estate with gardens, olive orchards (2), hammock, walking trails and multiple private seating areas to sit and enjoy a cup of coffee, glass of wine, or your favorite book. Le Farmhouse is an authentic traditional farmhouse (le mas) that was built in 1790.  While our home is over 230 years old, it was fully renovated in 1998 with modern comforts, including A/C in each bedroom. It retains a classic charm and elegance, which includes some blemishes or "beauty marks" as we take our time to renovate each room. 

• Pool - relax by our 15m x 5 m (50ft x 16ft) pool with sun loungers (4), umbrella and pool towels (provided)

• Connected living - high-speed internet (fiber optic, Wi-Fi); two private office spaces; TV room with Netflix for the rare rainy day

• Coffee/Tea Service - Nespresso coffee and Mariage Frères tea self-service bar, and coffee/tea break on request.

• Selection of Local Wines - wine refrigerator stocked with our favorite local wines for your private use (modest prices) 

• Guest Room 1 (max 2 people)

  • ​​Room features: King size bed (180x200cm), comfort mattress, luxury bed linens, air conditioning / heating, large closest, Wi-Fi, and Juliet balcony overlooking the garden.

  • Bathroom features: private en-suite bathroom with double sinks, soaking bathtub and rain shower, local bath products by Les Choses Simples, robes, slippers, towels and hair dryer. 

• Guest Room 2  (max 2 people)

  • ​Room features: Queen size bed (160x200cm), comfort mattress, luxury bed linens, air conditioning / heating, large closest, Wi-Fi, view over the garden, private office and access to a private terrace.

  • Bathroom features: private en-suite bathroom with rain shower, local bath products by Les Choses Simples, robes, slippers, towels and hair dryer. 

• Olive Oil from Le Farmhouse - a bottle of Olive Oil from our own estate for each guest

• Private covered parking

PRICING​

 

7-night stay (including breakfast and two dinners) for both bedrooms - 5600 euros plus taxes, cleaning fees (200 euros) and reservation booking fees (charged by Airbnb).  Please note the price is the same whether you book for 2 people or 4 people. For example, the cost would be 2800 euros per couple, but we ask for both bedrooms to be reserved on a single reservation.  

 

Please note optional experiences (additional dinners, wine tasting, wine) are paid at Le Farmhouse by cash only as we do not accept check or credit card. 50% of the payment is due (online via airbnb, non-refundable) to reserve the specific dates with the remaining 50% due 30 days prior to your stay.  Please note we cannot change dates once reserved.

GETTING HERE

​

The closest airport is Marseille (MRS, 60 min) or the closest train station is Avignon TGV (45 min).  We are located in the countryside and so guest will need their own car to get here and explore the region during their stay.

OPTIONAL EXPERIENCES

​

Our goal is to make your holiday stay a wonderful and memorable one, and so we offer a few additional options for those wanting a more tailored experience (prices available upon request).

​

• Dinner at Le Farmhouse - breakfast and two evening dinners are included in Le Farmhouse Stay, with the remaining dinners and lunches open for you experience the region's restaurants and culinary treats.  For those evenings when you just don't want to leave the property, we are happy to prepare a private four-course dinner with wine. Please note use of kitchen is reserved for owners.

• Wine tasting - We love the wines of the Luberon and are happy to share our passion for wine. Dave is a wine aficionado (passed Level 1 Sommelier exam) and can lead you through a one-hour introduction to Luberon Wines & tasting (at Le Farmhouse) 

• ​Private Yoga Classes - David is a yoga instructor (US certified) and happy to lead you through an outdoor yoga session

• Guided Hike from Bonnieux to Lacoste (~3 hour round-trip) - ​enjoy one of our favorite local hikes with us between two nearby villages

• Massage/Spa - book a massage therapist for a massage on the property in the privacy of your suite, outdoors under the oak tree or in the olive orchard; or just a short 5 min walk away, indulge in an award-winning 21,000+ sq ft Spa and Wellness Center.

• Bike rentals - we live next door to a world-class biking center and happy to recommend bike rentals (road or e-bike) for a day or for your entire stay.  There is an option to have your bikes delivered to our property for your arrival.

• Group or Individual French classes - we can recommend a wonderful French professor to come to our house for individual or group French classes.  We are happy to put you in touch directly to coordinate her availability in advance of your stay.
