About Us
Bonjour! Dave & David here - an American couple who left the big city and moved to Provence to follow our dream of living in the Luberon. Originally from Iowa and California, our careers led us to live in Washington DC, San Francisco, Chicago and London before we decided to make a pivot and set up our home and life in the South of France. We are not retired, rather we decided to shift our paradigm and slow down and enjoy each day as much as we possibly can.

We started our French adventure in late 2019. Little did we know that our dream of traveling throughout France in 2020 would be curtailed by COVID-19. We were lucky to have found a long-term rental where we stayed for the first year of lockdowns, making strategic visits to different villages and regions when we could to see if we could find our forever home. It wasn't easy -- and wow did we learn a lot along the way -- looking at 75 properties from Nice to Bordeaux and everywhere in between.
While looking, the Luberon valley was always in the back of our mind and our point of reference. We had vacationed in Ménerbes in 2007 and fell in love with the mix of agriculture (vines, olive groves, cherry orchards, lavender fields), hilltop villages (Bonnieux, Gordes, Roussillon, Ménerbes), Provençal markets, and of course... the weather!
When we drove up to Le Farmhouse (a nickname we gave to our property), our hearts skipped a beat. "Un coup de coeur" as they say in French (love at first sight) for this 18th-century farmhouse and olive orchard located in the middle of the golden triangle of the Luberon.
